ORESTES — Virginia L. “Jenny” Remington-Pitcock, 76, Orestes, died Feb. 8, 2006, at Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Delaware County. She retired from General Tire in 1991 after 25 years of service where she worked in production.

She was a member of the Alexandria Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Joe (wife, Susie) Remington of Alexandria; one daughter, Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Remington of Orestes; one brother, Gene “Pud” and Pat Smith of Dunkirk; two sisters, Mary Keihn of Muncie and Frances Ellis of Muncie; six grandchildren, Tammy (husband, Don) Alexander, Ellie (husband, Tim) Merrill, Elton (wife, Amy) Hines, Jerry (wife, Brianne) Hines, Marcie (husband, Scott) George and Ande (husband, Tim) Harpel; nine great-grandchildren, Devon Reismiller, Vanessa Reismiller, Mallory Gillard, Dylan Alexander, Jasmine George, Eric George, Austen Ellis, Trever Harpel and Zoey Hines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Marcella (Koons) Garner; first husband whom she married on April 20, 1948, and who died Nov. 6, 1965, Willis Remington; second husband whom she married in 1970, and who died Sept. 20, 1994, Harley Pitcock; and a sister, Ione Davis.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
