PENDLETON, Ind. —
At least a dozen staff members of the Pendleton Correctional Facility have been suspended as part of a facilitywide probe aimed at finding the source of illegal contraband, according to two television news stations’ websites.
Doug Garrison, a spokesman for the Indiana Department of Corrections, did not return calls to The Herald Bulletin on Tuesday seeking comment on the investigation.
WISH-TV’s website reported Tuesday that Garrison said that, in addition to the already suspended employees who admitted to using drugs, 38 other staff members tested positive for drugs but deny taking illegal drugs.
The probe, WISH-TV reported, will continue today and Thursday.
