ANDERSON, Ind. —
An autopsy is underway at this hour to identify a man found dead amid some debris off Anderson-Frankton Road Thursday night.
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide and hope the autopsy will determine a cause of death, Anderson Police Department Spokesman Lt. Paul Boulware said.
“We’re stuck in the dark until we know his identity," he said. "This is one of those cases that we’ll have to build incrementally from the evidence.”
The body was described as being that of a black male, age 25 to 35. There was no identification found, police said.
Police arrived at the scene about 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening and cordoned off the area around where the body was discovered.
According to police, a young girl apparently saw the body on Wednesday and told her father about it. When she reminded him about again on Thursday afternoon, he went out to see for himself. When he found the body, he called police.
