Alexandria H1N1 shots announced

Anderson, Ind. -- A second public H1N1 vaccination clinic has been announced, this one in Alexandria, at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Madison County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The Madison County Health Department announced the clinic today, and said that recent shipments of H1N1 vaccine have expanded plans to offer large-scale public vaccination clinics. An Anderson clinic is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4. The health department is planning to add a clinic in Elwood and another in central Anderson when supplies allow. The health department said current supplies will allow 2,000 doses to be given at Hoosier Park and 1,300 in Alexandria. The department urges families in these priority populations plan to attend: pregnant women, household contacts and caregivers of those 6 months and younger; children 6 months to adults age 24; health care and emergency care workers; and individuals 25 and older with pre-existing, chronic medical conditions.
