Update: Indiana 9 reopens after tanker crash

ALEXANDRIA — Indiana 9 has reopened at County Road 900 North in Alexandria after a collision between a tanker truck and two other vehicles Wednesday afternoon.

Stan Aldridge, an investigator with the Alexandria Police Department, said two cars were driving northbound on Indiana 9. One, a silver car, braked to apparently make a left turn and was rear-ended by the red car. The silver car crossed into the southbound lane, where an empty milk tanker sideswiped it. The tanker went off the road with its entire front left fender and parts hanging from the frame.

Aldridge said two people were transported to a local hospital and were responsive when transported.
