ROCKFIELD, Ind. — Authorities say a man was hospitalized after being shot while deer hunting over the weekend in northern Indiana.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department says 42-year-old Joe Irwin of Lafayette was shot in the abdomen Sunday evening while hunting with another man near the community of Rockfield about 25 miles northeast of Lafayette. He was taken by helicopter to a South Bend hospital in serious condition.
The sheriff's department said the shooting remained under investigation.
