INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities are looking for three men suspected of setting a fire that destroyed an Indianapolis apartment building and displaced 12 families.
Fire Department spokeswoman Rita Burris says all but three of the 20 residents home at the time of the blaze early Saturday morning got out of the building on their own. Firefighters had to help a couple and their 2-week-old infant child escape from the top floor.
The child was taken to Methodist Hospital, treated for smoke inhalation and released.
Burris says the fire has been ruled arson. Police are seeking three suspects were seen leaving the scene in a car about 20 minutes before firefighters arrived.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
