SCORE to present workshop series
ANDERSON — SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” will present a series of five free informational workshops to help entrepreneurs develop their own business strategy. The workshops will be presented 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Monday in November and will include the topics “Keys to Starting Your Own Business” (Nov. 2), “Biz Vision and Plan” (Nov. 9), “Marketing with a Customer Focus” (Nov. 16), start-up funding (Nov. 23) and Small Business Association loans (Nov. 30).

NOBLESVILLE — Tim Gernand, an American Family Insurance agent in Noblesville, has been recognized for customer satisfaction excellence under the J.D. Young professionals group has first meeting
ANDERSON — The Madison County Young Professionals Group met Oct. 8 in its first meeting in a continued series of monthly forums designed to create opportunities for young professionals in Anderson and Madison County to network and develop professionally and personally. In attendance were a diverse group of professionals, including business owners, CEOs, marketing directors, stylists, job seekers, students and more.
Sparks named third quarter sales leader
ANDERSON — Local Carpenter Realtors employee Jada Sparks recently was named the top sales agent for the third quarter for Carpenter Realtors Anderson office. She completed 25 transactions in the third quarter.
AU SIFE kicks off school year
ANDERSON — Anderson University Students in Free Enterprise held its annual kick-off Sept. 30 at the Flagship Enterprise Center. SIFE is an international non profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.
The five FEC clients chosen to receive free consulting services from SIFE for the 2009-10 school year are AMATRA, Chamber of Commerce, Framer LLC, HeLP Logistics and Truck Emission Technologies.
