ANDERSON — The Community Hospital Anderson Foundation sponsored a recognition dinner on Oct. 13 at Anderson Country Club where three employees received the Community Hospital Anderson SERVE Award for their excellent customer service. Recognized for their service, enthusiasm, respect, value and excellence, recipients of this award were Michelle Cook, organizational education; Debbie Rosenbaum, human resources (awarded posthumously); and Ruthie Smith, LPN, women’s and children’s services.
Two physicians received the William J. Tierney Physician Award of Excellence. Tierney was a longtime surgeon and leader at Community Hospital Anderson who died in December 2008. Recipients were Dr. Kelly Chambers, longtime member of the medical staff at Community Anderson, and Dr. Fred Osborn (awarded posthumously), emergency department physician for many years who died suddenly in May. Gwen Tierney, wife of Dr. Tierney, helped to present this award.
