Mack returns as racing secretary
ANDERSON — Kevin Mack, longtime standardbred official, will return as standardbred racing secretary to Hoosier Park Racing and Casino for the 2010 racing season. Mack will assist in placing Hoosier Park’s premier events, the $200,000 Dan Patch Invitational and the $500,000 Hoosier Cup, onto the national stakes schedule for 2010.
Home care business launches Web site
ANDERSON — Joni and Jan Kendall, owners of Above & Beyond Home Care Inc., announce that their office has been relocated to 1320 E. 53rd St., Suite A, Anderson, to accomodate its growing staff. An open house will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the new office. ABHC also will launch its new Web site, homecareindiana.com, which will allow patients to schedule complimentary health assessments.
Energize-ECI elected to IARC
MUNCIE — East central Indiana economic development organization Energize-ECI has been elected to membership in the Indiana Association of Regional Councils, a statewide association of 14 organizations that provide comprehensive regional planning services that are coordinated with local governments in Indiana.
Unified Group Services a finalist
ANDERSON — Third-party insurance administrator Unified Group Services was named a finalist for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Award. This year was the second consecutive time the company was named a finalist; four other Indiana companies also were finalists.
South Bend-based Manufacturing Technology Inc. was named the Small Business of the Year. The award is open to all Hoosier companies with 250 or fewer employees.
County sees decreased home inventory
ANDERSON — Madison County is one of three central Indiana counties to experience an above-average inventory decline in homes for sale for October, according to statistics compiled by F.C. Tucker Company. The county’s inventory decreased by 16.8 percent, compared to an average of 15.1 percent. Hancock and Marion counties also experienced above-average declines.
Sparks attends technology meeting
ANDERSON — Carpenter Realtor Jada Sparks attended a technology information meeting Nov. 6 to discuss new ways to use technology in the real estate industry. The meeting was hosted by Applied Internet Technology and Marketing Taskforce.
At the meeting, Realtors discussed consumer input, such as what to put on Realtors’ Web sites and the use of mobile-enabled sites. Additional consumer input can be sent to Sparks at jada@jadasparks.com.
Suds Express continues food drive
ANDERSON — Suds Express Laundry on East Eighth Street will have a Thanksgiving food drive to help local people in need. Through Nov. 25, any customer who brings in a bag of food will receive a free wash cycle.
All proceeds will go to a local food pantry.
