ANDERSON, Ind. —
An article published Aug. 31 in The Herald Bulletin directed taxpayers to a state government website where they can determine the estimated tax impact of two upcoming school referendums for Anderson and Elwood.
The site is www.in.gov/dlgf/8789.htm
Once there, click on the referendum calculator. The final tax amount includes deductions such as homestead, mortgage and others. Taxpayers should determine the assessed value of their property to receive an accurate result.
The tax impact is shown as an annual cost and as the total taxes to be paid over the seven-year life of the referendum.
