Business people: Warrum’s serves cleaning needs

Name of business: Warrum’s Power Wash Cleaning

Location: Anderson; 425-1125 or 393-1078; www.warrumscleaning.webs.com

Owner: Tim Warrum

Opened: 2000 when Warrum was only 16.

Hours: Warrum operates the business by appointment seven days a week.

Employees: The business uses contract employees as needed.

Services: Warrum’s Power Wash Cleaning serves all of Madison County’s cleaning needs, Warrum said. Although the name may be misleading, he said the company does far more than power washing, although that is a big part of his business. The business cleans brick, vinyl siding, fencing, driveways, swimming pools, roof algae removal, guttering cleaning, playground equipment and graffiti removal. He said he uses only biodegradeable chemicals.

Warrum said he also does debris removal — like cleaning up hoarded properties or excessive trash — interior cleaning like maid services and all kinds of vehicle cleaning. Other jobs that Warrum’s company has done are industrial machine degreasing and cleaning up after new construction.

“I consider a lot of my work as helping improve curb appeal,” he said. “What I tell customers is to protect your investments by cleaning them so they don’t become deteriorated.”

In the owner’s words: Warrum started the business at 16 after washing trailers for a local company. An individual asked him if he’d wash his camper. He bought his own power washer and his business went from there.

“I strive for customer satisfaction,” he said. “I like to keep my clients happy.”

Warrum — who received his bachelor’s degree while operating his business part-time — would like to pick up enough business for Warrum’s Power Wash Cleaning to be his full-time business. He said he provides free estimates for work.

“No job is too big or small,” he said.

Warrum said one of his favorite parts about being a local business owner is the ability to give back to the community that helped him grow.
