AU roundup: Ravens men top Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The Anderson University men’s basketball team defeated Wisconsin Platteville 65-62 on Tuesday at Bo Ryan Court in Platteville, Wis.

Brock Morrison led the Ravens with 12 points and six rebounds, hitting 4-of-6 field goals, and Andrew Jones had 12 points and five rebounds, including 6-of-8 field goals.

Phil Hogan had 13 points, and Andrew Bowman also had 12 points and four rebounds.

The Ravens trailed by six points at the half (31-25) but outscored the Pioneers 40-31 over the final 20 minutes. Hogan hit a pair of free throws to give the Ravens a three-point lead with 10 seconds left. It was the third consecutive game the Ravens led by three with 10 seconds left and the third time they chose to foul over let the opponent attempt a game-tying shot.

And for the third time in a row, the Ravens came away with the victory. Platteville missed the free throw but got the offensive rebound. However, it missed a game-tying shot in the final seconds.

AU (3-0) hosts Augustana on Saturday at 7 p.m.



Women’s basketball

ANDERSON — The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to No. 13 DePauw University 66-46 on Tuesday night at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

Tiffany Bowsher led the Ravens with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists, hitting 6-of-8 field goals and her only free throw.

Lauren Leisure also was in double figures with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.

Lapel graduate Courtney Prater had six points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

AU (0-4) travels to Trine on Saturday at 5 p.m.
