    Greenfield freshman Sami Frazier limited the No. 2-ranked team in the country to three hits as Anderson University defeated Trine 5-1 here Thursday.
    The win moved the Ravens into the second round of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament in Angola. AU will play at 2 p.m. today against Aurora.

  • Ravens dominate HCAC team

    Anderson University’s Amy Wuestefeld has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player of the 2013 softball season and Sami Frazier was named the HCAC Pitcher of the Year as well as Freshman of the Year.

    The Anderson University softball team became the first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team to win three straight postseason tournament championships on Saturday, defeating Manchester University 5-1 in the second championship game.

  • Ravens softball team in HCAC title game

    The Anderson University softball team defeated No. 3 seed Bluffton 3-0 and No. 4 seed Franklin 6-0 on Friday to advance to the championship game of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament in North Manchester.

  • Ravens seek third straight trip to NCAA

    The Anderson University softball team has done it both ways and neither is easy.
    The Ravens have been to the NCAA Division III softball tournament the past two seasons and today they will try to break into that elite field again. In 2011, AU won the tournament that was played at Transylvania, the regular season champs a year ago.

  • SPT - HB0428 - AU vs Hanover softball  - 072.jpg Ravens softball makes HCAC tourney, but title in doubt

    The Anderson University softball team scored early and often to salvage a doubleheader split with Hanover Saturday afternoon.
    After dropping a 2-0 decision in the opening game, the Ravens roared back with a 9-1 win in the second and that win clinched a spot in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament, to be held next Friday and Saturday.

    The last thing I needed was one more.
    But that’s what I got on Tuesday. It was early afternoon and not a drop of rain had fallen. The radar showed rain moving this way but no storms.

    Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly knows the importance of staying on message, and he has been consistent all spring.
    As the Fighting Irish prepared for the annual Blue-Gold game Saturday, Kelly said he believes Notre Dame is close to winning its first national championship since 1988. At the same time, he’s telling players that they can’t depend on last season’s success leading to victories in 2013. And he’s telling everyone he plans to be at Notre Dame for the long haul and talking about being a national power annually.
