Saints' gamble, Colts' loss

Sean Payton’s daring gamble on the second-half kickoff paid off, and a much-maligned New Orleans Saints defense stopped Peyton Manning twice in the final three minutes as the NFC champions upset the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 Sunday in Super Bowl XLIV. Indiana alumnus Tracy Porter intercepted Manning with the Colts driving to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, and former Purdue star Drew Brees threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints.
