Anderson man stabbed outside store

Timothy Ray Nails, 20, sustained life-threatening wound

ANDERSON — An Anderson man sustained a life-threatening stab wound Tuesday evening, and was being treated at Saint John’s Medical Center. Authorities expect he will be transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Timothy Ray Nails, 20, of West 14th Street, was stabbed in the chest at about 5:40 p.m. outside Rick’s Food Mart at the corner of Nichol and Madison avenues.

Anderson police Sgt. William Casey said the wound just missed Nails’ heart. He said police were looking for a suspect who left the scene in a grayish-blue van. They also were talking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from the store.
