ANDERSON, Ind. —
Two people who pleaded guilty to drug charges received 10-year sentences Monday.
Danielle R. Cross, 35, and Michael A. Clendenin, 40, both of Anderson, were handed sentences by Judge Thomas Newman of Madison Circuit Court 3. Both sentences are fully-executed.
Cross pleaded guilty earlier in the month to charges of possession and manufacture of methamphetamine for an incident on Oct. 21 when a one-pot meth-making attempt went awry and led to an explosion in Cross’s apartment in the 800 block of Dewey Street.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Christopher Foreman, who lived at the address with Cross, told police that a Gatorade bottle he and Cross were using to cook meth in started to glow and spark. He threw the bottle in the bathroom of their apartment and it blew out the south wall and bowed the west wall of the structure. Cross admitted to helping Foreman buy supplies and cook the meth.
Clendenin had been arrested just six days prior on Oct. 15. He was discovered making meth with his girlfriend Misti Heldt in his home on Leisure Lane. Police officers who raided the home found meth and numerous supplies used in homemade meth production.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Heldt admitted to using meth and helping Clendenin buy supplies. Clendenin was charged with dealing and possession of meth and pleaded guilty on March 4.
