Pit bull attacks Anderson woman
ANDERSON — A 20-year-old Anderson woman suffered several bite wounds when a pit bull attacked her late Monday evening.
Kayla Greene had just left her house in the 2400 block of Jackson Street and was walking down the sidewalk. The female pit bull was reportedly inside a fenced-in yard but jumped over the fence and attacked Greene, said Sgt. Bill Casey, Anderson Police Department spokesman. The height of the fence was not available.
The dog was killed by a man who beat it with a stick, Casey said. The man, whose identity was not available Monday night, told police he was not the owner of the dog.
Greene had wounds to her lower extremities and was taken to Saint John’s Medical Center. She was expected to be released after treatment, Casey said.
Anderson police and Anderson Care and Control are still investigating the incident.
