SUMMITVILLE — A two-car accident on Indiana 9 on Monday sent four people to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to Sheriff Ron Richardson, the accident took place at 10:02 a.m. and involved a 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Harold G. Barley, 88, of Summitville, and a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Trenton Patterson, 34, of Anderson.
Richardson said Barley was southbound on Ind. 9 when his car crossed the center line and sideswiped the northbound traveling Blazer.
Richardson said the Impala then slid sideways in the roadway, spun around and came to a rest on the east side of Ind. 9 facing north.
The Blazer, Richardson said, spun to the east side of the road, flipped once and became airborne. It then came to a rest in a ditch on the east side of the road.
Passengers in the Blazer, 33-year-old Michela Robbins of Frankton and 15-year-old Joseph Harris of Frankton, were taken to Community Hospital for observation and minor pain.
Barley was treated for a bruise on the head at Community while Patterson was treated for pain in the left hip, back, shoulder and neck.
All people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, Richardson said.
