A Frankton woman was hospitalized for minor injuries after her car struck another vehicle and left the roadway along Indiana 13 Wednesday afternoon.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said the accident happened at 4:23 p.m. while Chastity Martz, 27, of Frankton, was traveling north in the 4100 block of Indiana 13. Martz’s 2009 Pontiac G5 crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Loretta Lundy, 41, of Lapel.
Martz’s vehicle then left the roadway and struck a utility pole, pulling down power lines. The accident forced the closure of Indiana 13 for 90 minutes.
Richardson said Lundy complained of chest pain at the scene but refused treatment. Martz was transported to Community Hospital Anderson for treatment of chest pain and minor facial bleeding.
