MUNCIE — A California man convicted of killing another man’s wife for money in 1993 has been sentenced to 100 years in prison.
Fifty-seven-year-old Jess D. Woods of Whitmore, Calif., was convicted in April of murder and conspiracy to commit murder and was sentenced in Delaware Circuit Court on Thursday by Judge Linda Ralu Wolf.
Defense attorney Zaki Ali said his client is innocent and will appeal.
Woods, formerly of Daleville, Ind., was charged in the death of 29-year-old Teresa French. Authorities said her husband, Anthony W. French, hired Woods to kill her. She was pursuing a divorce at the time and was found shot to death in the garage of the family’s Muncie home.
Anthony French was sentenced to 80 years in prison on the same charges in December.
