Oct. 17: Arrest Log

-- Anderson police arrested Christopher E. Douglas, 32, Woodworth Street, Anderson. 1:15 a.m. Saturday. 29th and Jefferson streets. Suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication. Bond is $5,000.

-- Anderson police arrested Marquis D. Kelley, 22, West 10th Street, Anderson. 1:00 p.m. Saturday. 2900 Block of Fairview. Suspicion of class ā€œDā€ misdemeanor possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Bond is $5,000.

-- Anderson police arrested Vanice L. Cox, 32, West Washington Street, Anderson. 1:30 p.m. Saturday. 1600 block of Main Street. Suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. Bond is $5,000.

-- Elwood police arrested Brandon D. Jones, 18, South A Street, Elwood. 10:01 p.m. Friday. 1600 block of South A Street. Suspicion of illegal possession of alcohol and criminal mischief. Bond is $3,000.

    Memorial Day weekend  took a tragic turn Saturday evening as an Anderson man visiting Monroe Reservoir died. Three other Anderson men were arrested later that day following the death of Matthew Hosier, 29.

    Since October 2006, Donald Lock has been confined to a wheel chair because of a degenerative bone disease. He has spent time at correctional facilities throughout the state, but it wasn’t until he was transferred to Pendleton earlier this year that he said he felt his disability was ignored.

    A Chinese immigrant who tried to kill herself by eating rat poison was free on bond Tuesday after more than a year in an Indianapolis jail on charges that she killed her 33-week-old fetus.
