Woman hits pole, extracted by firefighters

ANDERSON — A Knightstown woman who drove into a pole and became trapped in her car Tuesday has been transported to Saint John’s Medical Center, according to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson.

Richardson said Ronni Haines, 18, was driving north on County Road 50 at about 5 p.m. Tuesday. He said Haines hit a utility pole just south of Indiana 38.

The sheriff said Pendleton Fire and Rescue cut Haines out of the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Haines was transported to Saint John’s by Pendleton ambulance with “minor bleeding to her face and complaints of pain to her chest,” Richardson said.

He added that Pendleton police helped on the incident.
