LAPEL, Ind. —
The Lapel Marching Bulldogs and Guard cranked up the excitement at last Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Ga.
The 56-member ensemble performed a medley of “Louie, Louie” and “Danny Boy” for the nearly 500,000 audience members along the 2½-mile parade route.
The Marching Bulldogs performed their signature dance cadence, “funky chicken” and several other dance cadences.
Drum majors Philip Horstmeyer and Bobby Steele led the band along the parade route for nearly two hours.
In addition to the parade, the band and guard members also toured the sights of Savannah and spent time on the beach at Tybee Island.
Prior to their time in Savannah, band members went to Atlanta to visit enjoy the Coca-Cola museum and CNN studios and then visiting Stone Mountain and the Civil War Cyclorama.The tour was the fourth time the Marching Bulldogs have participated in the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade since 2001. Gregory R. Scott is the band director at Lapel High School.
