Local student In Valpo’s ‘Cabaret’
VALPARAISO — Valparaiso University senior Sarah Beckerman, of Anderson, was a fight choreographer in Valpo’s Center for the Arts fall production of “Cabaret.”
“Cabaret,” directed by R. Andrew White, was set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power. “Cabaret” focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub, and the plot and music revolve around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with young American writer Cliff Bradshaw.
Beckerman is double majoring in theater and English at Valpo. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Mimsy Rahe of Anderson. Beckerman is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, N.C. Beckerman is also a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
