PENDLETON — The annual Arabian Wrestling Club Cornhole Tournament is Saturday. Registration will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the Pendleton Heights High School auxiliary gym. Tournament play will begin at 11 a.m. Team entry fee is $20.
Grand prize is $100. There is also a $50 prize to the highest placing, non-winning student team. There will be a silent auction for a Colts-themed cornhole set. For more information, go to www.arabianwrestling.org.

Haffner becomes 44th winner of Red Haven Award

When PH’s Ellie McCardwell won the award in 2010, the long-standing trophy was retired, and because the Arabians had the last winner, the school was able to permanently house that hardware.
On Tuesday, when the Anderson Noon Exchange Club presented the 2012 winner, it went to Pendleton Heights’ Abbie Haffner. So for the next 12 months, PH will be home to both the new traveling trophy, first presented a year ago to Lapel’s Leigh Steele, and the old one. -
