PENDLETON, Ind. —
A Pendleton Heights High School student has died, according to Madison County Coroner Ned Dunnichay.
Dunnichay said the 16-year-old boy died late Monday night at Saint John’s Medical Center in Anderson. After an investigation Tuesday, the coroner ruled out foul play.
Pendleton Heights Principal Mark Hall said students grieved the loss of their classmate Tuesday. He said that the student was well-liked.
Hall said the staff immediately began working to help students handle their grief.
“We called in counselors from across the district to meet with our students,” he said. “Our whole focus right now is supporting the kids.
“It’s been a really tough day,” Hall said. “It’s very somber.”
