Mich. fans forgive Springsteen's geography goof

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — For Bruce Springsteen, Friday the 13th might have had less to do with bad luck and more to do with faulty geography.

The 60-year-old rock legend greeted his Palace of Auburn Hills audience with a rousing "Hello, Ohio!"

Springsteen referred to the state bordering Michigan on the south several more times over the next half-hour before E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt whispered an apparent correction.

A visible self-conscious Springsteen grinned and confessed: "I'm all right. That is every front man's nightmare."

The Detroit Free Press says Springsteen rocked the forgiving audience for nearly three hours with new and old hits including a complete performance of his album "Born to Run." excitement
