New Year’s celebrations planned in Madison County

-- Stanley’s Bar & Grill at the White Corner, 27th and Monroe streets, Anderson, will host a New Year’s Party beginning at 8 p.m. with entertainment by Fun Time Karaoke with Brad. Tickets are $10 for an evening of karaoke and all-you-can-eat food and are on sale now. There will be a champagne toast at midnight. Door prizes will be given. For those wishing to attend without dining, there is no charge.

-- Kroakerheads, 1239 Meridian St., Anderson: Forte — 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
-- East Side Lane’s Up Your Alley Lounge, 2521 E. 10th St., Anderson: DJ — 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. No cover charge.
-- Paramount Theatre Centre, 1124 Meridian Plaza, Anderson — Rock in the New Year with Kyxx — 9 p.m. in The Hardacre Ballroom. Tickets: $40 per couple. Includes hors d’oeuvres and a champaign toast at midnight. Tickets on sale at the box office.
--Hoosier Park — It’s a flashback to vintage Vegas this New Year’s Eve. Party with Sin City favorites Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Marilyn Monroe. Enjoy hallmarks of The Strip including a wedding chapel and live Rat Pack performances.

Non-alcoholic venues
-- Lighthouse Cafe, 102 N. Harrison St., Alexandria: 1950s/60s-themed pitch-in — all open mic.
-- Southdale Church of the Nazarene, 530 W. 53rd St.: Dinner and concert. A chicken dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and the concert featuring The Unity Quartet and 3rd Row Boys will be from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $6, concert cost is $5 and a love offering will be taken. There will be no charge for children 6 and under.
-- Bickel’s Uptown Cafe, 21 W. Eighth St., Anderson: George Smith, organist/pianist will be featured from 6 to 10 p.m. during a dinner buffet that includes the traditional New Year’s corned beef and cabbage, plus Paul’s pies and cakes and salad dressing. Cost is $14.95 including drink and dessert. Reservations are requested, but not required. Ring in the New Year at 9 p.m. with a sparkling juice toast and singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and a singalong to celebrate the coming of 2010.
