Ethanol: Your Opinion

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, two Madison County bodies will determine the future of a proposed ethanol plant located just outside Alexandria. The Madison County Planning Commission will vote on whether to rezone the property for industrial purposes and the Madison County Board of Zoning Appeals will vote on proposed zoning variances.

  • Public comment needed on ethanol plant Indiana Department of Environmental Management will host a public meeting about IDEM's draft air permit for Ultimate Ethanol, LLC at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Alexandria-Monroe Public Library, 117 E. Church St., Alexandria.

    A draft air permit for a new ethanol production plant in Madison County will be discussed. Ultimate Ethanol, LLC is proposing to build and operate the plant at the intersection of county roads 1300 North and 100 East.
