White River Fish Kill: 10 Years of Recovery

Cleary 1/6/00 P1 State DNR Assistant Fishery Biologist Dave Kittaka writes down data from the fish samples that were taken along appox. 1/2 mile of White River from the Rable Ave bridge to the discharge area from the Anderson Wastewater Treatment Plant Thursday. They were checking different areas of the river counting the species of fish that they found. The DNR had different teams working the river from this spot in Anderson to the Waverly area south of Indianapolis. Kittaka said the river upstream from the treatment plant seamed very healthy. In one area in this stretch they found a dozen small mouth bass ranging from 10.2 inches to 17.4 inches in length. GOES WITH STORY BY KEN
