CHESTERFIELD — Spirit guides and psychics carrying tarot cards and healing stones converged on Chesterfield over the weekend in celebration of the fifth annual Spirit Fest at Camp Chesterfield.
The spiritualist camp welcomed 30 psychics and bodyworkers, gurus in the areas of spiritual health and wellness and new age artists.
Tom Benedict of Utica, Ohio, used stones and intuition to determine what each visitor to his stand on Sunday needed. Using his hand as an energy sensor, Benedict would hover over certain stones and stop abruptly over the one producing the most energy for each visitor. The stones, for sale for about $2 apiece, were meant to aid the visitor in specific daily problems.
Sheila Felker, an Indian spirit reader from Noblesville, used touch to guide her readings. She did not call herself a psychic, but referenced her abilities back to her ancient Native American heritage. “I’m Indian,” she said. “I was born with it.”
Anne Firestone of Oxford, Ind., used goddess oracle cards in her readings and said the cards help her give advice and guidance to visitors. “I depend on your question, how this (card) fits with your question and my intuition.”
Camp Chesterfield has a psychic fair on the first Saturday of every month.
