Leland and Delores Franklin will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on April 28. They were married at East Lynn Christian Church by the Rev. George Harris. They still attend East Lynn.
Leland retired from Guide Lamp after 46 years in the safety department. Delores, the former Delores Eads, retired from Pay Less Super Markets after 15 years as a food demonstrator. Prior to that, she was employed by Dr. Joseph Larmore.
Leland is very busy fixing everything. He grows his long hair for “Locks of Love” cancer society. He also appears each Tuesday morning on Leland Jr.’s talk show on WHBU-AM. He has a fan club of 11 ladies.
They celebrated their anniversary with a cruise on the Mediterranean with their daughter Rebecca Pascal and her husband, Roger, from Rome to Cairo, Egypt.
An open house will be held May 4 at the home of their son, Leland (wife, Angie) Franklin Jr., 230 W. 13th St., Anderson.
Their older son, Craig, is deceased.
No gifts please, just memories!
Their grandchildren are Michael, Daniel, Noelle, Holly and Joshua.
