Donald and Ethel King will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 30.

Don King and Ethel Featherston (Manis) were married Sept. 30, 1958 by the Rev. Phil Brook at the Meadow Brook Baptist Church. After a short honeymoon in Chicago, Don and Ethel returned to Anderson, where they still reside. They have a son, Doug (wife, Holly) Featherston ; two granddaughters, Dana (husband, Mike) Shepherd and Denise (husband, Dean) Shaffer; and two great-grandchildren, John and Lily Shaffer.

Don has owned a service station in Alexandria, served as a deputy sheriff for Madison County, and retired from the Delco Remy Division of General Motors with nearly 37 years of service. Ethel is a charter member of the Anderson chapter of the American Business Women’s Association and retired from Delco Remy’s Plant 11 after 31 years.
