Letter: Priority given to vacant school’s parking lot

I am sure you have probably heard enough of this, but I just wanted to say a few things that may interest you. I live in the Greenbriar addition on the dead-end street of Acacia. So far this year the city has plowed this road two times with the extent of running a plow down it one time and backing out.

This is not my concern; the main thing is the Anderson Community Schools can spend money clearing a parking lot, of all snow, for a building that has not been used this year.

I thought maybe it was a fluke, but each time there is any snow they clear the former Greenbriar School out totally. I understand the need to clear the entryway, in case of a fire or another emergency, but why the city cannot spend the money on clearing the addition out more than running a truck with a plow one time down a street.

I know there is nothing that the paper can do on this issue, but in these times of tight budgets, why is money spent where it is not beneficial to any city resident?
