Potholes are created by water getting under the asphalt, freezing, and pushing the asphalt upward, then breaking up.
If this is the case, why are the potholes not repaired properly? If when the people responsible for the repairs would only do a couple of tasks, then the repairs would not repeat themselves.
1. Use a torch to dry out the holes. This would dry out the hole and prepare the asphalt, forming the hole, to receive the new asphalt so the new will adhere to the old.
2. Use a pneumatic hammer to force the new asphalt into the hole, and not rely on the automobiles to drive over the new asphalt. Driving over the fresh asphalt only accomplishes two objectives. One by driving over the fresh patch only helps to pull the fresh patch loose, and then allowing the pothole to appear again. Second by driving over the fresh patch allows fresh material to adhere to your automobile.
Please, whoever is in charge of the repairs, let’s do the job correctly, and save the tax paying public some money-
