Letter: Cuts in education are not acceptable

What are we doing? The cuts in education are not acceptable. School buildings should be state-of-the-art. School teachers should be some of the highest paid people in the world. Cut education? No.

Being a parent and grandparent, I am ashamed for letting this happen on my watch. Using the backs of children to fix problems. Shame on me. We, as Americans, need to protest, speak up, do something, nonviolent. I will start by writing my so-called elected leaders, local, state and federal. I will then proceed to vote for no incumbent on the ballot. Republican, Democrat, Independent, Tea, whatever affiliation. Problems that have to do with the children (the future) of America are all concerns.

I am just a simple man with a simple plan. I vote for leaders to solve these situations. They are not doing so. I will help any way I can: taxes, fees, volunteering. I will not accept the plan of cutting children’s futures out of the fear of the present. Not on my watch.
