Letter: Many contributed to Belmont fundraiser

The fundraiser in Belmont Park for cancer victim James Smith and family held last weekend was a huge success due in part to so many merchants donating, and people who labored hard to make this happen.

With fear of not giving credit to all, I won’t mention any. You know who you are, thank you.

A special thanks to Park Department Maintenance Superintendent Tom Tacket and his crew for preparing the park. And to Mayor Ockomon and his staff for attending. Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for giving prayer for this family.

Thanks to Jerry Reeves for his singing and entertainment, and to all who help set up tents, cookers, staging and to the clown and face painter for keeping the children entertained.

Huge, huge thanks to the residents of Belmont.

Patsy Cox. Cindy Davis, Don Shaw
