Letter: Polls can give any desired results

Every day we are subjected to conservative propaganda

I would like to ask The Herald Bulletin readers a few questions. Do you believe in polls? TV news and radio talk show hosts refer to polls on a daily basis. They say polls indicate that President Barack Obama’s approval rating is around 51 percent; approval for the proposed health care reform is 35 percent and only about 40 percent of Americans believe Congress is doing a good job.

What would you say if I told you I could take a telephone poll over Madison County and give you any result you asked for? All I have to do is have in my hands the results of the last election by precinct. It wouldn’t be easy, but it could be done. Every day we are subjected to conservative propaganda, using poll figures, to try and convince us that President Obama is destroying America. To all you conservatives out there, accept the fact that last November you lost big time! Get over it!
