I have found much humor and irony in letters and viewpoints in The Herald Bulletin in recent months. Feb. 20, 2010, brought us another in a long line of humor pieces. The comments could have been written by any of the liberal loving authors we are so often stuck with reading because their mantra is always the same. “This is all the Republicans’ fault, Mike Pence hasn’t done anything for us and Bush/Cheney/Palin are all the devil.” “Blah, blah, blah.” The name changes, but the message is always the same.
Then, awhile back, the honorable former congressman, Lee Hamilton, espoused that we are all just too stupid to understand the “wisdom” and desire of the current Democratic leadership to remake our world in their diluted image. An image a majority of Americans do not support. In other words, they know what’s best for us, better than we do. The only one stopping Congress from doing anything to this point has been the Democrat Party itself. For the last year, they had the majority in BOTH houses and still accomplished squat. The Republicans didn’t have the votes to stop anything, yet they are placed with the blame for nothing getting done.
The authors of letters to the paper like to call Republicans the party of “No.” In a civilized society, that’s something to be proud of. When you play the responsible role of adult/parent sometimes you have to say “No.” This president and the ilk he brought to Washington, don’t like being told “No.” As community agitators, income tax evaders and the 1960s version of terrorists, they’re not used to hearing the word. I would hate to see the additional mess we would be in if courageous leaders, like Mr. Pence, didn’t say “No.” Sensible people are applauding them for having a backbone.
The article Saturday suggested that tea partiers do some background checking on Emperor Murdoch. I would suggest the same for Dictator Obama’s blind followers. The media’s lack of doing their job during the campaign, and still today, has given us the worst example of leadership in our country’s history. I personally find it revolting the way this administration and the liberal Democrat-controlled Congress have conducting this nation’s business. The late-night deals and behind-door negotiations are despicable. If this health care bill, for example, is so great for everyone, let it stand on its own merits. I suggest it has none, which the dirty little secret is that they all know that, let it be put out for scrutiny. I’m pretty sure the “tough and intelligent” president promised something like that when running for office.
I teach my children to learn their history. Unfortunately, in the schools and in the media, history is constantly being rewritten. It is also rewritten in the daily comments sent into the newspaper. (Ford didn’t take bailout money for example). If you take the time to study the history of our great nation, you will find evidence of economic troubles in the past.
Government has never been the solution, only the problem. Government doesn’t create jobs. The Constitution, which the current Democrat leadership would love to rewrite, doesn’t give them that power. Its job is to get out of the way and let the American people do what they do best, create.
We were all created equal, but we don’t finish that way. You choose your own path. You choose to be a producer or a consumer. Unfortunately, there are too many people think all they need to do is consume. That is going to be the downfall of our great nation.
When people grow up and quit lying to themselves about reality, you will see a nation rise again to its greatness. Some of us still see it. Wash the “mess” out of your view and join us.

Letter: Consumer-driven economy will pay off debt
To save America some money — by acclimation of course — let’s not have a presidential election in 2012. We already have a good president who will do his best to kill all Republican bills (DOA) and, consequently, create more good-paying jobs in the $30 per hour range.

Letter: Gingrich cashes in on political amnesia
Rasmussen says that Romney has flattened nationally. Why?
Two reasons seem to tell the tale. Gingrich has shown that he will fight, and Romney is a Mormon, believed to be a “cult” by a majority of evangelicals. -
Letter: Hiring Winkler not wise spending
As a taxpayer I want to know that my taxes are being spent wisely. Hiring Greg Winkler at a salary of $126,000 is not wise spending.

Letter: Bill of Rights being nullified by new law
President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act on New Year’s Eve. I doubt many Americans noticed its implications because they do not yet comprehend the big picture. This law, coupled with the Patriot Act, is paving the way for America’s direction toward tyranny.

Letter: Economy putting people in the gutters
We are now getting the results of putting people in the gutters. We need to take a second look at our government and its policies. It’s not working.

Viewpoint: Look at Creation Museum from an educational, scientific perspective
I encourage any and all who have interest in this vitally important topic to “go to the source,” to invest the time and energy into exploring The Creation Museum for themselves.

Letter: Blame the voters for our Congress
Why is insider trading legal for Congress and illegal for the rest of us? They make and enact laws for all of us, but then exempt members of Congress. Somehow this doesn’t seem to pass the smell test.

Letter: Smith’s firings appear vindictive
Anderson is a city of negative publicity and actions. Why else is Sears leaving? Can we stand four years of vindictive actions and negative reporting?

Letter: Planned devaluation of dollar is coming
I’ve submitted letters regarding the existence of a global elite for years now. I’m now submitting another one in which I hope readers will take note of.
