INDIANAPOLIS —
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a road work moratorium beginning this afternoon, until the morning hours of Monday, to increase motorists’ mobility and safety during the holiday weekend.
INDOT has a policy of opening as many traffic lanes as possible to the motoring public in advance of the influx of holiday travelers, a representative said in a press release. Contractors stop work in construction zones. Wherever possible, road restrictions will be removed. Some closures and restrictions will remain on projects that cannot safely reopen to traffic.
For up-to-date information on traffic conditions, road closures, construction information and crashes, visit www.TrafficWise.in.gov or call 1-800-261-ROAD (7623).
Traffic and restriction updates can also be obtained on Facebook and Twitter. For links, go to www.socialmedia.indot.in.gov.
