ACS board set to meet Tuesday
ANDERSON — The Anderson Community Schools board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Administration Building, 101 W. 29th St. Superintendent Felix Chow has included with the agenda communications he has shared with Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett and ACS staff about a structural deficit that he said could spell “financial disaster” for the system by late 2012.
Elwood schools to weigh budget cuts
ELWOOD — Elwood Community Schools will consider proposed budget cuts at the school board meeting on Thursday. The school board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the high school cafeteria.
Cemetery announces spring clean-up date
ALEXANDRIA — Mike Owens, owner of Park View Cemetery, has announced that the 2010 spring cemetery clean-up will begin on March 22 and continue through the April 2.
All ground decorations, ground flowers, fall and Christmas flowers, etc., that are to be kept by the family should be removed by March 21 as the cemetery will not be responsible for decorations left after that date.
The cemetery grounds crew will remove any ground decorations, grave blankets, faded and unsightly decorations and flowers that are not in vases, attached directly to a monument or on shepherd’s hook beginning on March 22. Memorial Day flowers and decorations can be placed on May 15 and must be removed by June 6.

Academy to sponsor blood drive
ANDERSON — Indiana Christian Academy will sponsor a blood drive on Monday from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the school gym at 432 W. 300N, Anderson. The community is encouraged to donate. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh over 110 pounds and be in good health.
