Design bouquets many ways

ANDERSON ó The 2010 Gardening Series sponsored by the Madison County Master Gardener Association and Purdue University Extension kicks off Saturday, March 20, from 10:30 a.m. until noon at the Anderson Public Library. Jill Dinsmore, master gardener and floral designer, will present a program, ìMany Ways with a Bouquet.î Learn how to make beautiful floral arrangements from a bouquet.

Lenten Concert Series benefits food pantry

ANDERSON ó Every Thursday at noon during the Lenten season, Central Christian Church is offering a musical concert for the public. Come, ìfastî during your lunch, and donate your lunch money to be used at one of the local food pantries. This Thursday, trombonist Lance Goen will be joined by Julie Brown on the piano, and Dan and Daniel Burton on trumpets for the hour-long music presentation. The church is at the corner of 10 and Jackson streets.



Relay for Life meeting scheduled Monday

ANDERSON ó The 2010 American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Madison County will have its second team informational meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the Anderson City Building council chambers, said Patty Farran, committee representative. All are welcome. For more information, call the Cancer Society office at 642-6603.



Goodí's ùGreat Easter Egg Hunt begins Monday

ANDERSON ó Goodís Candy Shop, 1423 W. 53rd St., will kick off its annual Great Easter Egg Hunt on Monday. Children and adults hunt in an enormous Easter basket for the five golden tickets hidden in foil-wrapped chocolate eggs available for purchase. Golden ticket holders will win a Goodís basket and must redeem their ticket by April 10.



Christ Temple to host conference

ANDERSON ó Christ Temple Church, 1610 W. 22nd St., will host a Sunday school conference 11 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will be served. Seminars for married couples, singles and widows start at 7:30 p.m. Friday. For information, call Deborah Robinson at the church, 644-9281.



Red Hatters to meet at Daleville restaurant

ANDERSON ó The WOW Red Hatters of Madison County will meet 11 a.m. Saturday at Birdís BBQ in Daleville. Lunch will be followed by a short business meeting. Call the following with questions: Jean Leedy, 642-9514; Sharon Schuck, 649-2838 or Jane McCartney, 759-7593.



Abundance Meal set for Wednesday

MARKLEVILLE ó The Christian Womenís Fellowship of East Christian Church will have its monthly ìGod Abundance Mealî from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the basement of the church. The menu includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, dessert and drink with a freewill offering accepted.

The East Christian Church, 124 E. Main St. (Indiana 38), is handicap accessible. Carryouts will be available; shut-ins and small businesses can request meals delivered by calling the church (533-4996) the day of the meal or Diane (533-2330). The public is invited.

    The city needs additional funds to pay for slight increases in firefighter salaries, as well as $2.35 million for the fire and police pension funds. Thursday night at a city council meeting, a funding suggestion was proposed for the latter, but no solution was determined for the first.
