ANDERSON — The Art Association of Madison County Inc. will be accepting artwork for the 11th annual juried Student Art Exhibition at the Mounds Mall on Friday, Feb. 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. or Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Freshman through senior age students attending a Madison County public, private, religious or home school or live in Madison County can enter. (The student does not have to be in an art class.) Any student can enter two pieces total in the exhibition in any of the following categories, Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Jewelry, Sculpture, Photography, Multi-Media.
There is also a separate division of the Exhibition. Any student may enter one piece (in any category) about anything pertaining to horses. This division is set up in honor of Hoosier Park, for the support it has given through the years. So any student may enter two entries in the regular show and one in Horse division.
An opening reception will be Sunday, March 7, from 2 to 5 p.m., with an awards presentation at center stage at 3 p.m.
The exhibition will run through March 19, Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
The exhibition is free to enter and visit. This year’s judge will be Anderson artist Will Johnson, previous Student Exhibition winner.
