ANDERSON, Ind. —
City water utility crews repaired a second water main leak that occurred Thursday morning, while continuing to fix the city’s main water line.
The second break occurred in a 4-inch line on Nursery Road between Eighth and Sixth Streets, about 10:30 a.m. That break sent water gushing through the yards of neighborhood houses and took about two hours bring under control by fitting a special metal compression sleeve over the damaged main.
Meanwhile, city crews continue to work on a fix for the 80-year-old main that sprang a leak about 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Anderson public information officer Charlee Turner said utility managers are maintaining acceptable water level pressures throughout the system.
She added that city residents don’t need to make any changes in their water use. There are currently no residents or businesses without water, she said.
