Snow causes few incidents

Weather likely to warm by afternoon

ANDERSON, Ind. — With temperatures expecting to reach the mid-30s this afternoon, the nearly inch and a half of snow the Anderson area received should soon be gone.

Area law enforcement reported few incidents related to the snow that fell overnight and continued to fall in the early morning hours.

Anderson police reported four property damage crashes.

State Police in the Pendleton District reported a few slide offs on Interstate 69 and one property damage crash in the eight county area it covers. Roads in the district varied from wet to snow covered and slick. Conditions, the agency reported, worsened as drivers went north of Interstate 70 with many state roads and parts of 69 wet or slush covered.

Secondary roads north of 70 were mostly snow covered this morning and were slick and hazardous.

The Madison County Emergency Management Agency had received no calls for aid overnight or Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service said any snow showers were likely to end before 1 p.m. The forecast for the day was cloudy, with a high near 36. The forecast for tonight is cloudy, with a low around 28 and a southwest wind around 6 mph.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., mostly cloudy with a high near 43.
