Colts Tailgate plans to be announced

City and Hoosier Park teaming up for events during training camp

ANDERSON, Ind. — City and Hoosier Park Racing and Casino officials today will announce details of The City of Anderson’s Official Camp Tailgating Site that will begin Monday at Hoosier Park.

Mayor Kris Ockomon and Hoosier Park General Manager Jim Brown will stage a news conference at 2 p.m. today at Hoosier Park, previewing the events that will be planned during Colts Camp, which begins Sunday and continues through Aug. 18.

The tailgate site will offer shuttle service to and from the camp at Anderson University from Hoosier Park. The shuttle cost will be $10 per carload — the same fee that will be charged for parking at the camp.

But the shuttle service will be just one part of the attractions that Hoosier Park plans to offer camp visitors during the tailgating event. Food and beverages will be available at the tailgate site, and additional events that have been planned will be announced today.

“Hoosier Park will be the City of Anderson’s official tailgating location,” city public information officer Tammy Bowman said. “Hoosier Park is doing a full slate of events for the entire duration of  training camp.

“They’ll be doing these things in typical Hoosier Park style,” she said.

The tailgate site will be one of many camp-related attractions. Closer to camp on the AU campus will be Colts City that will include interactive inflatables and games, Colts-related vendors, cheerleader appearances and the Colts in Motion traveling museum.
