ANDERSON — To help out local veterans, two tribute bands will hit the Paramount stage Saturday night, for a concert done dirt cheap.
And just maybe, concert goers will look up at the theater’s “courtyard” sky and see the dark side of the moon.
Big Gun, a Tennessee-based AC/DC tribute band, and Indiana’s own Pink Droyd, a tribute to Pink Floyd, are set to perform a concert to fund The Thank You Foundation of Cincinnati.
The show, produced by Ohio’s Legendary Entertainment Productions’ Steve Kaiser, is part of a series called “Remember When.”
“The whole focus is on the Thank You Foundation, which supports all branches of the military and their families, and the veterans,” Kaiser said.
“They help support our veterans and help them get into VA hospitals, get health care, things like that. They help the active members, so they won’t worry when they’re not home. They fill the gaps that our government can’t.”
The foundation serves a region that includes Michigan, Kentucky and Indiana.
“We’ve already got them tied into the National Guard Family Readiness Group in Anderson,” Kaiser said. “So they’re already doing some good up there.”
Because a member of Big Gun, Andy Bowman, has a brother in the military, the group was willing to donate time for an after-concert acoustic set in the Paramount ballroom. Admission is included in the ticket price.
Kaiser said he just hopes that active soldiers or veterans, along with their families, will turn out for the night of classic rock.
“The concert’s being used to get soldiers there,” Kaiser said. “If we can get them there, we can get them some family time, show their families what the Thank You Foundation can do to help them along their hard times.”
