Pence to appear on CNN this morning
WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., is scheduled to appear on CNN’s “State of the Union” at 9 a.m. today.
Pence was expected discuss the health care bill.
CNN appears on channel 34 on Comcast Cable.
Census bureau still needs workers
MUNCIE — The Census Bureau is still testing for employment, possibly through March, so time is running out to take the test to be employed. Temporary, part-time positions will be offered.
To take the test bring either one current passport as ID: or 2 forms of ID including one driver’s license plus Social Security card or birth certificate. For other acceptable IDs call for information at 587-1720.
Testing will be held at Middletown Library on High Street on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and also at 1 p.m.; and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., is also testing several times — Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Sunday, at 2 p.m.; Monday, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Wednesday, at 3 and 6 p.m.; Friday, March 26, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Saturday, March 27, at 11 a.m.
Other testing will be at 3 p.m. today at the Pendleton Library, 595 E. Water St., Pendleton.
Tea Party assembly set for Beulah Park
ALEXANDRIA — A Tea Party Assembly will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Beulah Park in the Emery Lee Building.
Guest speakers are to include State Rep. Jack Lutz, R-Anderson; Richard Behney, candidate for U.S. Senate; and Don Bates, candidate for U.S. Senate.
ANDERSON — WHBU’s morning talk show, “Anderson Live,” will remain on hiatus until April 5.
The station recently announced the hiring of Doug Zook as new station manager and host of “Anderson Live,” which broadcasts from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.
Bruce Law of WHBU said Zook was originally scheduled to begin his new position on April 1, but his start date had to be pushed back. In the meantime, Law said, WHBU will air “Good Day,” a syndicated radio show hosted by Doug Stephan.
Cancer screenings scheduled
ANDERSON — Saint John’s Cancer Center, in cooperation with the American Cancer Society, Madison County chapter, will offer free screenings for head and neck cancer on April 10.
Each screening is painless and only takes about 10 minutes.
Oral surgeon Chris Kinney, D.D.S., will be conducting the screenings by appointment at the Saint John’s Cancer Center, 2020 Meridian St., Suite 100.
