The wheels will be in motion shortly along Scatterfield Road.
Co-owners Joe Robbins and Myo Thein are aiming to have their used-car dealership, Indy Imports, open on April 14 at 735 S. Scatterfield Road, at the former site of Cal Cars.
With this business venture, Thein pointed out, they are looking to tap into a niche not already present in Anderson, offering high-end used luxury cars such as Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar and Lexus to name a few.
“We plan to make sure the cars we offer are in great condition,” Robbins said. “There will be background checks conducted on the vehicles, along with ensuring they are accident-free.”
Robbins said he was pleased with the initial response in the local community, as residents have stopped by during the renovations stage.
“I have been able to meet several people that seem very enthused with what we are doing,” Robbins said. “I truly believe our business will not only attract local residents, but people from out of state that will be interested in the import vehicles we offer.”
With the corner of Eighth Street and Scatterfield Road vacant for the last few months, Diana Priser, city economic development specialist, is pleased with the new business opening.
“Any new business to the city of Anderson is a welcomed addition,” Priser said. “The location Indy Imports has chosen is a very busy area, and hopefully they will grow there.”
Along with offering the luxury imports at the dealership, Robbins explained, the Indy Imports vehicles will be available on the Internet at www.Indyimports.net.
